The Time Is Now

As I mentioned previously, our church is in the process of building a facility after 14 years in various rentals. We have just grown beyond our capacity to rent anymore. A few months ago, Greg and I were interviewed along with several other people for a video about the new facility. It was posted this week on our church's website. So... if you'd like a good laugh (well, not really), you can go watch it. Once you get to the home page, scroll to the bottom. You'll see a screen with a changing picture. When it gets to "The Time Is Now Updates", click on the screen (or I think the second little button on the right will freeze the screen in the right place so you can click on that button, also). On the next screen, click on "Watch 3D Virtual Tour Here" on the word "Here". That will take you to the video. The first voice you'll hear is Greg's and we're the first people you see. Let me just say that it's amazing what editing can do! LOL!

My goodness how their website has changed! The video is awesome. As you know we miss going there! It is an awesome church and what you experience there is something you will never forget. I wish gas prices would go down!!!

BTW...I love Joe's blog ;)

How long until your building will be ready? We've been in our own building for several years now... but it is STILL a lot of setting up/tearing down for the worship team because our sanctuary is a "gymnasium" and it gets used for LOTS of things. The stage is curtained off, but still there are many times it has to be cleared. We're sure looking forward to having a dedicated sanctuary some day!

How many weekends are you on? We are on 2 and off 2, but last month I was on 3 and I'm on 3 again this month covering for the other keyboard player.

We haven't actually broken ground yet. This past Christmas they said we'd be in the new building for Christmas 2008. Those of us with builders in our families laughed. Then, I heard Easter 2009. Tonight the pastor said around a year from now. It remains to be seen! :) Technically, we're only supposed to be on once a month. It is VERY unusual if I'm not on twice in a month. Sometimes (rarely, though, usually holiday months), I'm on more than that. I LOVE it, if it didn't mean killing the whole weekend. We have 2 services on Sat. night and 2 on Sunday. I have to leave home by 1:45 on Saturday afternoon and am basically committed until we get home sometime after 1:00 pm Sunday afternoon. It's tiring!
