The First Clue
And I made them HARD! For example, if the answer to a clue was a door, I gave no hint as to which door in the house the clue was on. The kids called me evil, and I laughed wickedly as they ran all over the house looking for the appropriate door or whatever. This made the scavenger hunt last much longer than typical.
Another Clue
The answer to this clue was "bear" - there's a bear face on this wreath.
Carys is looking disinterested!
Then she helped find the next clue in a "basket".
I have one child who loves to have her picture taken and makes sure to make a silly face or funny pose...
and another child who hates to have his picture taken.
It was all over too soon anyway, and they found their pumpkins in the girl's closet.
Despite the food they'd eaten at the Country Carnival, they managed to scarf down some more candy from their pumpkins!

I just love this idea! Do you give them the clues in a riddle or something or just the one word clue?
I did riddles the first year. It was TOO hard to think up clues. Here's a couple of samples from this year: Clue 1 Read Genesis 3:7. For your next clue, find some large versions of an item mentioned in this verse.
Clue 2 Read 2 Corinthians 11:33. Find one of these items and look inside.
So, they're all Bible based!
Fun post! Loved the pics of the kids as you followed them around, from Carys looking disinterested, Chase's funny faces, and your ds (which one?!) hiding behind the chair.
:)
So fun to catch up! I'm baaaaccck!
This always looks like so much fun. I was thinking yesterday that we need to think about our "annual Winter Scavenger hunt" and see hwat we can come up with here. I don't think we could be so silly in public as we were in TX...wouldn't want to be a bad witness....but we could still do some fun things. I must think about this.
This is such a cool Idea!!
This looks such a good idea!
