The Last Hurrah of Summer

As in previous years, we did 4 weeks of school then headed to Suntide Island Beach Club for our annual timeshare week.  Carys has been there every year since she was born and has made some great friends.  This year was awesome because it was the first time since 2006 that Greg was able to stay the whole week.

Greg and Carys in the hot tub

Chase doesn't want to have her picture taken.

Greg worked on teaching Carys to swim.

This is what Gerren and Chase did most of the time.
This is what I did most of the time!

Chase STILL doesn't want her picture taken.

Carys lost another tooth one night.

Isabella and Bianca and their family have the condo next to ours.

Carys looks forward to playing with them all year!
In the pool with Mom

We met the Beatty family at Suntide four years ago.  They rent there at least once a year.  We hadn't been back at the same time until this year. Sherry, the mom, thought she recognized Chase and came over and asked.  Chase and Micaela struck up their friendship again.  Micaela taught Chase how to make these bracelets she'd been trying to learn to make on her own.

Gerren and Chase finally came out of the room on the last day.
Playing pool with Micaela and Nolan was too good to pass up

One last picture of Carys swimming

We had an awesome, relaxing time - the best time I've had in years although we missed Landon!  I guess we'd better get used to that.

Looks like it was a fun vacation

It does look very relaxing! Different without Landon, but a blessing that Greg could be there the whole time (the flip side, I guess, of having those hours cut earlier). How fun to have friends that you see there.

What a GREAT week. I'm glad Greg was able to join you. I sure understand what you mean about missing Landon...it's strange to vacation and make memories without EVERYONE there...but I applaud you for remaining engaged with the ones at home and making new memories.

What FUN! It's hard to make those "family" trips without all the family!
