Decorating Outside

I love how the outside of my house looks at Christmas, so I got Greg to take a picture for me. He didn't mind doing that at all. He DOES mind, however, putting up the lights. He is such an easy-going, good-natured person who rarely ever complains about anything. BUT he starts complaining in October about putting up the lights. It's not the "putting up" that he minds; it's the non-working lights--especially those that are working when he tests them but then quit working when they're actually up! This year Landon helped a lot. The two of them even made up a song: "It's the Most Horrible Time of the Year". It looks beautiful, though.

Here's a close-up of my nativity set-up. For the last two years I had a much smaller nativity. It wasn't very sturdy, though. Greg made me this one the weekend before Thanksgiving. Isn't it nice? He made the cross, too. I just love what this says--Jesus came to earth for one reason, to die. His entire life was lived in the shadow of that cross. Thank you, Lord, for what you did for me!

Your house is beautiful. I'm waiting for us to finish ours to post a photo. We have a nativity similar to yours and it was blown to bits last year. Mike is sure he can put it together - we just need TIME. MAYBE tomorrow....the house is about 1/2 done....which hasn't stopped my guys for turning it on every night. ::snort::

Did you make your cross? I love that.....I may try to do that instead of trying to find another Celebrate Jesus sign.

Yes, DeEtta. Greg made it out of 2 pieces of rough-hewn cedar, 2x4. He made the nativity by copying my sil's. Her brother made it from plans he found somewhere. You could probably find them by searching the web.

Your house looks beautiful! I especially like the Nativity and the Cross. Hmmmm... Thoughts for next year. I think this is my angels last year.

Linda, the house looks fabulous. I can relate to the problem lights. My dh's gone to the store at least two times to return faulty lights. He's going batty. And taking me there with him, lol.

I love the Nativity! I want Steve to make one for us for next year. (This year is too full of painting and trim for him to do anything else.) And how appropriate to have the cross.

Your home is beautiful and I love how your decorations have such meaning.
