Carriage Ride

Carys has been begging for a few years now to take a horse-drawn carriage ride around downtown Ocala.  These are only available around Christmas each year.  This year I decided to bite the bullet and see what it cost.  The private 30-minute tours are normally $90 a couple.  We had a family of six.  She gave me a great deal and only charge me $135 for everyone.

I made the reservation for Christmas Eve between services and our regular Chinese buffet meal.  However, it rained that night (first time in years that I can remember it raining on Christmas Eve), and they cancelled.

We rescheduled for Saturday evening and told the kids we were going downtown to look at the lights on the square.  The big "kids" went along, but I don't think they were too thrilled.  Carys started up the begging to go ride the carriage.

When I told her that was what we were actually going to do, I think she was too stunned for words.

We were the last group of the evening.  They were running about 30 minutes late, so she actually gave us closer to a 45-minute tour.  The weather was fantastic!  Not too hot and not too cold.

Chase and Greg played the "I'm going to take my picture/no don't take my picture" game.

Carys' favorite part was petting the horse at the end.  Love that girl!
