Spring 2015

Well, the spring of 2015 has come and gone.  I'm such a bad blogger that I never posted anything.  I'll try to do a summation.

We celebrated Carys' 9th birthday.

We celebrated Landon's 22nd birthday.  (How did that happen?)

Carys enjoyed a new HEART club called "My Doll and Me".

We celebrated Gran's (Greg's mom) 85th birthday.

 We celebrated Easter.

I cracked the fifth metatarsal bone in my right foot at the end of February, and that slowed us down somewhat.  But we still managed a field trip to St. Augustine in April.

Greg and I met in Bob Williams' College and Career Sunday school class at FBC Inverness in 1984.  Bob and Rita live in St. Augustine now.  She is almost 92, and he'll soon be 90.  We've been able to visit with them a couple of times over the years.

We celebrated Chase's 17th birthday.

We finished our school year with a trip to the country's largest homeschool convention, which happens to be just a little over an hour from us in Orlando.

Friday's keynote address with only 2/3 of the crowd shown

"Mom, is it okay if I read ahead in this book?"  Ummm.... yes!

Greg and I went to every Todd Wilson seminar, even RVing (we have no intention of RVing)! :)

After using Sonlight Curriculum since 1998, it was a HUGE thrill for me to meet Sarita Holzmann in person.  Thank you, Sonlight and the Holzmann family, for all you've done for our family through this awesome curriculum.

We even got to meet John Holzmann who was hiding out in the back of the room during one of Sarita's presentations.

No convention is complete without a trip through the vendor hall to see what kind of weird stuff you can find.  :)

We plan on a busy summer as well.  Carys is taking swim lessons during June.  Then, we'll go visit my mom and Gerren during the first half of July.  School begins again in August.  Time just seems to fly by, doesn't it?

Always love to see the updates! So many birthdays. Greg's mom's tiara is adorable. I love the Spanish history of Florida, it's so easy to forget. If I were Mrs. Williams, I would love to see your family and get such a kick out of knowing how you met in my class. :) You know, I ended up in the Loopy group because of Sonlight. We were living in Littleton, and every time I would try to search (probably alta vista back then, not the same nice ring to it as "googling") Littleton and Homeschool, Sonlight's website would pop up. I finally ordered the catalog, which took me another two weeks to decipher. How cute that Carys is reading Beverly Cleary--those were some of the BEST books that I still can remember reading!!!
