Chapter 7 "A Faulty Focus" talks about having a life purpose statement. This sounds like such a great idea to me! BUT I'm so awful at stuff like this. I'm not creative, I'm not a good writer, and I can't seem to find just the right words! I really like this idea, though; so I'm going to give it a stab. Has anyone ever done this?

Writing is not one of my strong points . . I am not very creative either so maybe I should read this book too!
Well, I haven't, but I've wanted to, too. I've had a newspaper article about writing a "family statement" for several years, and I finally threw it away today, as I go through stuff and pack. I just don't see it happening at my house, Linda, but if you write one, I do hope you'll share!
We did a Bible STudy a few years ago (4 or 5?) where we were to write a statement like this. It took me forever....and really I'm not sure I would have ever nailed it down if it hadn't been that I was leading the study.... ::snort::
I have found it incredibly helpful for me since I did that then. It actually became the basis for my blog profile....and then the basis for me evaluating so many things like blog, SHS ownership, homeschool co-op opportunities, ministry opportunities....
Good stuff if you can but persevere....you'll be glad you did it, Linda.
Sounds like great idea, Linda!
Though I have to say that I hated this book. It seemed to me that the author didn't worry *enough*. Especially the time she left her terribly sick daughter to fly off somewhere. I can't imagine ever doing that. Mind you, I read it when I was quite ill with depression. {g}
We wrote a Life Map years ago after reading a book about Life Mapping! I think I'll see about getting this book from the library. It looks like a GREAT one! Thanks for the review and I love your life purpose statement.
