One Less Child

Well, Landon is in Tallahassee at Boy's State this week. It's amazing how one less child makes the house so much quieter, even when it's a really good child. He had a rough start to his week, but thanks to my friend Jackie, who lives in Tallahassee, it got better fast. He even enjoyed the class they had on the bar exam which everyone else thought was boring!

Today, I ran to the bank first thing in the morning to make a deposit. On the way, I was getting my driver's license out of my wallet and it wasn't there!!! I never take my license out of its place except at the bank at the Walmart Pharmacy. I checked both places, but they didn't have it. I checked anywhere I thought it could be at home, but I just couldn't find it. So, I made an appointment to get a new one a couple of hours later. I couldn't keep driving around without a license! That was $25 we didn't have that would have to be spent. When I was chatting with the lady at the Driver's License Office, she said that a when you give your license to the bank, the teller often puts it in the little envelope with the cash. Then the customer accidentally throws it away. I tried to think of the last time I had gotten cash at the bank. My mom sent a check for curriculum and birthday money for Greg. I cashed it, got the birthday money out, but left the curriculum money in until the Visa bill was due. I had Gerren check that envelope, and sure enough, there it was!

Of course, this was after I'd already gotten a new license.

Of course, I'd never have thought to check that envelope if the lady hadn't mentioned it.

Of course, I would have found it on Friday when I took the money out to pay the credit card bill.

Oh well, at least this picture looks more like me. On the old license, I had curly hair with a poofy top. :)

I can't believe how quickly the summer is flying by. We'll start school again on August 2. Sigh!

Praying for a phone interview for Greg with St. Louis University this week or next.

Oh, Linda,

I am praying that Greg gets this job!

I've had a difficult time with misplacing things lately. It's either age or busyness that is causing me to be so scatterbrained. When I lost my license, they replaced it online with my horrible, old photo that doesn't even look like me any more...and that was only 3.5 years ago. The hairstyle definitely dates my picture as "the pre-straightener years".

Michelle, that makes me glad I didn't apply online! :) Thanks for the prayers.

That happened to me at the Walgreen's pharmacy. I now ask them to not put my license in the envelope. Sorry you had to experience getting a new license because of this annoying practice. Thanks for stopping by my place and saying hello!!!!

That stinks about getting the new license. But at least you don't have to worry about the old one. :] How funny that it's such a common thing.
