The Citrus County Composite Squadron had its awards night on Tuesday, Dec. 8. Landon received his Red Service Award for being in CAP two years.

He also received his Earhart Award which is a milestone award that involves being promoted to Captain.

He is now the chairman of the Group 3 Cadet Advisory Council (there are 7 "groups" in the Florida "Wing" which is in the Southeast Region of the national organization). He was acknowledged for becoming the 9th member with "distinction" of the Florida Wing's Cadet Honor Society. He was inducted into the CHS last year. Finally, he received the VFW Officer Citation. What a night!

Then on Monday, December 14, we attended the West Citrus Cadet Squadron's awards night. Greg, who is a senior member, was promoted to 1st Lieutenant.
Gerren serves as his squadron's Cadet Advisory Council representative. He received his cord that night.
Gerren also received the VFW NCO Citation. Gerren is now a Master Sergeant and has passed all the requirements to be promoted to Senior Master Sergeant except for the Promotion Board. Hopefully, he will pass that in January.
We're really proud of these boys!

I felt a swell of pride just looking at these pictures! What a joy they must be to you.
So proud of your boys. This is our biggest disappointment about this assignment...NO CAP. You would think on a FIGHTER base we'd have CAP.
That would be disappointing, DeEtta. Everywhere Greg considers for a job move, we look into the CAP squadrons. My parents live in Belleville, IL, near Scott AFB. There's a big squadron there. So... :)
Well done everyone!
I don't know what all of those things mean, but congratulations! It all sounds very impressive.
