We interupted their cookie eating to take this picture. Polly, the dog, is standing carefully by in case they get distracted and drop something!
Isn't this picture so adorable?
Here we all are together. The front row has Dakoda, Sylar and Rylee Mitchell, Carys crouching down almost behind the ottoman and Joanna and Thatcher Mitchell. Standing in the back are Jay Mitchell and Chase, Gerren, Landon, Linda and Greg Meahl. We were suprised the picture turned out so good with so many people in it!
We headed home around 12:30 and didn't arrive until 9:30pm. I managed to get everything unpacked and one load of laundry down in order to get in bed by midnight.
Today I'm doing 3 more loads of laundry, sorting mail and packages, making a grocery list, etc., etc., etc. It's always good to get home from a vacation, but there's also lots of work to catch up with!

Carys is really growing up!
I've really enjoyed following your travels, Linda! Thanks for sharing them with us. : )
I'm glad to hear that you are home safe. I really loved all of your updates and pictures - and would love to hear more as well. Maybe while the boys are out of school we could get together.
Tonya
I'd love that, Tonya!
You are one of the most ambitious women I have ever met! I'm glad you had a wonderful trip.
Joe thinks I'm crazy when we get home from a trip...I have to get everything unpacked right away. I HAVE to settle in a nest as soon as possible :)
You're SO ambitious to get going on the unpacking and laundry well into the night... I admit I'm the same way. When I get home I'm ready to get right back into a routine!
Here's my problem: I get easily overwhelmed by getting up in the morning to a mess. So, I always unpack and do as much as possible the night before. Typically, we take the day off from school after we get home from a trip. But being so close to Christmas, I didn't want to do that this time. So, I knew Monday would be a full day.
Dorothy, they haven't actually started having church services. They have two small groups meeting in their home every week and are doing tons of community outreach. They had a free Thanksgiving meal in a park in their town, for example. I think they plan on handing out goodies at the bus and train stations, homeless shelters, etc. on Christmas Eve, too. It's amazing what God is doing through them already.
Sweet photos! Dear friends are one of life's better blessings.
